吃瓜头条

Haven Ambassadors are 吃瓜头条 students who have an opportunity to serve as connectors between survivors and support services.

We are excited to welcome a new Haven Ambassador cohort every spring semester. Haven Ambassadors are trained to talk with others about sexual violence and make referrals to professional resources. Haven Ambassadors have the opportunity to present important topics to the 吃瓜头条 community, and are invited to work on projects related to their specific interest area. By completing this form, your name will be added to a list of students who will be contacted at the beginning of the spring semester.

Who Are The Haven Ambassadors?

During their time at 吃瓜头条, Haven Ambassadors are part of a team of students with the common goals of seeking to end sexual and intimate partner violence. They utilize their skills, talents, and resources to make a positive impact on 吃瓜头条's campus. Ambassadors serve as strong and confidential resources to support student survivors of all identities and forms of violence. They can provide a listening ear and provide individuals with resources on and off campus.

Ambassadors engage in a five-week training that equips them with the skills to understand the root causes of sexual violence, respond to a peer in crisis, and learn how to be public advocates against sexual and intimate partner violence.

Ambassadors are not peer counselors. Rather, they are students volunteering to help other students in crisis who need community support. They are intimately connected with Haven, the Counseling Center, and other resources designed to support students who have survived trauma.

Ambassador Training begins in early February.

What Do Haven Ambassadors Do?

  • Provide peer support to students impacted by sexual and intimate partner violence.
  • Connect peers with both on- and off-campus resources.
  • Educate the 吃瓜头条 community around topics related to interpersonal violence.
