³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ publicly launched the most significant philanthropic campaign in its 203-year history on Friday, April 22, kicking off the largest such campaign undertaken by a liberal arts college.

Trustee Emeritus Chase Carey ’76, his wife, Wendy, and their children Steve ’12 and Tara ’13 have made a transformative $25 million gift to spearhead a comprehensive renovation of the Reid Athletic Center and support other elements of the University’s Third-Century Plan.

³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ has announced the creation of four new endowed chairs, approved by the Board of Trustees during its January 2022 meeting, all made possible due to the generosity of ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ alumni. 

Trustee emeritus Robert Fox ’59, GP’23,’25 has given $10 million to build Fox Hall at ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ, the first residence hall of the University’s fifth Residential Commons. The gift was acknowledged by the Board of Trustees during its fall meeting, Sept. 30–Oct. 1.

Members of the ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ classes of 2022–25 will now benefit from an additional expansion of the University’s no-loan initiative under the ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ Commitment.

On June 1, ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ announced the ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ Commitment: An Initiative in Access and Affordability.

Daniel Benton ’80, P’10, H’10 has secured his place as ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ’s most generous benefactor, making a $25 million gift in support of the University’s Middle Campus Plan for Arts, Creativity, and Innovation and other elements within The Third-Century Plan.

Seven ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ alumni joined Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30 list for 2020.

³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ’s 15th president, Rebecca S. Chopp, will be recognized for her leadership with an endowed chair in the humanities, named in her honor.

The Third-Century Plan, unveiled last May, underscores the University’s intention to recruit scholars of the first order for new tenure-track teaching positions. In keeping with its ambitious plan, ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ is announcing a series of enhancements to faculty hiring packages.
